Claudius Nießen
Claudius Nießen (* 1980 in Aachen ) is a German author , editor and cultural manager .
Life
Claudius Nießen studied Islamic Studies , Dutch Studies and Politics in Münster and at the German Literature Institute Leipzig (DLL). At the DLL he founded the anthology syndicate in 2003 .
Nießen was a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation and the Institute for Book Art at the University of Graphic and Book Art in Leipzig . Nießen has (had) held several teaching positions for literary writing, including at the German Department of Heidelberg University , but also in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Leipzig.
From 2005 to 2012 he was the managing director of the Free Academy of the Arts in Leipzig . From 2008 to 2013 he was managing director of the DLL.
Nießen is also the founder and head of the Clarapark agency , which has been developing and conducting literary events since 2006, but also acts as an advisory institute for public institutions, foundations and companies on issues relating to the promotion of art and culture. At Clarapark z. For example, the Saxon Student Film Festival, the NeonNeon light installation, the Long Leipzig Reading Night, the Mitteldeutsche Medientage (together with Christian Bollert, BEBE Medien, detektor.fm), the Leipzig literature festival “Houston - we have a reading”, the reading L3 at the Leipzig Book Fair and the literary show Turboprop back. From 2006 to 2009 Nießen curated the Krautgarden Festival in Leipzig and New York .
Nießen works as a reporter for various media companies (including WDR and Handelsblatt as well as Detector.fm ).
Claudius Nießen has been a member of the Leipzig Cultural Council and the Advisory Board for Cultural Promotion in the City of Leipzig's Cultural Office since May 2017. In 2013, on behalf of the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony , Nießen prepared an expert opinion on "Possibilities and conditions of literary communication in Dresden".
