Claus-Peter März (born April 23, 1947 in Leipzig ) is a professor emeritus for exegesis and theology of the New Testament at the University of Erfurt .

Life

Claus-Peter März studied in Erfurt and Neuzelle Catholic theology and received 1971 the sacrament of Holy Orders . In 1974 he obtained a licentiate in theology and was awarded a Dr. theol. PhD . From 1979 he was a lecturer and after a year of study in Rome since 1989 full professor for the New Testament, initially at the Philosophical-Theological Studies in Erfurt, since 2003 at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Erfurt. In 2012 he retired. His main research interests are the Lucanian theology , the passion story , the reconstruction and theology of the source of the logia Q as well as the letter to the Hebrews .

In the field of the new sacred song , März became known as a lyricist through his collaboration with the church musician Kurt Grahl . One of the best-known works is the song Wenn das Brot, which we share , which is reminiscent of the " rose miracle " of Elisabeth of Thuringia .
