Claus Kretz

Claus Kretz (born September 22, 1950 in Speyer ; † January 23, 2007 ) was a German lawyer, university professor and politician ( CDU ).

After graduating from high school in Speyer, Kretz studied law in Heidelberg and Münster . In 1980 he was Regierungsassessor the regional council before he as head of the Environmental Agency for Rhein-Neckar-Kreis changed. From 1982 to 1992 he had a teaching position at the University of Administrative Sciences Speyer . In 1993, Kretz was appointed First State Official of the Karlsruhe District. In 1997, the council elected him district administrator of the district. In 2005 Kretz was re-elected. After he came under pressure because of a rental affair, he committed suicide in 2007 near the Rot-Malsch train station .
