Claus Leininger

Claus Leininger (born January 17, 1931 in Mannheim ; † February 22, 2005 in Wiesbaden ) was a German theater director and general manager .

Career

From 1950 to 1952, Leininger completed an actor and director training course. He then worked as an actor and assistant director at the National Theater in his hometown until 1956 . From 1956 to 1960 he worked at the Deutsches Theater in Göttingen . Then he moved (until 1967) to the municipal theaters in Freiburg im Breisgau .

From 1967 to 1974 he was Erich Schumacher's senior drama director at the stages of the city of Essen and then returned to the Mannheim National Theater from 1974 to 1977 as drama director in the same position.

From 1977 to 1986, on the recommendation of Uwe Mund , Leininger was appointed general manager of the Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen .

In the same position he worked from 1986 to 1994 at the Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden .
