Claus-Hermann Marek (born April 3, 1954 in Bochum ) is a former German decathlete .

In 1973 he won bronze at the European Junior Athletics Championships in Duisburg .

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal , he was tenth in the decathlon .

He set his personal best of 7962 points on June 7, 1976 in Dortmund .

Claus Marek started for USC Bochum , TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen and LAV Bayer Uerdingen / Dormagen .

After his career, he worked as the national coach of the decathletes from 1983 to 2004 and was the owner of a sports consulting company.
