Clemens Eibner

Clemens Eibner (born May 29, 1941 in Vienna ) is an Austrian prehistoric archaeologist .

Life

After studying prehistory and early history and paleontology at the University of Vienna (Austria), he received his doctorate in 1966 on burial and burial customs of the early urn field culture in southern Germany and Austria . He did his habilitation on the late urnfield burial ground of St. Andrä in front of the Hagenthale . In 1974 he led the excavation of the ring wall on the Buchberg near Berg in Attergau . From 1982 on he was professor at the Department of Prehistory and Protohistory at Heidelberg University , where he retired in 2008. His areas of expertise are the Bronze Age and Urnfield Age, mining archeology and experimental archeology .
