Clemens Schäfer (politician)

Clemens Schäfer (born December 31, 1919 in Binolen ; † April 16, 1989 in Göttingen ) was a German local politician and district administrator ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending school, he studied at the engineering school in Lage from 1950 to 1952 . He then worked in a bicycle chain factory in Bad Lippspringe .

He was married and had three children.

MP

He was a member of the district council of the former Warburg district from 1969 to 1974. He was a member of the Warburg City Council from 1975 to 1989.

Public offices

Schäfer was from November 26, 1969 until the dissolution of the Warburg district due to the regional reform on December 31, 1974, district administrator of the Warburg district. From 1979 to 1989 he was Deputy Mayor of Warburg.

Schäfer was active in various committees of the district council of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Awards and honors

In 1985, Schäfer was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon . Clemens-Schäfer-Strasse was named after him in Warburg.
