Clemens von Grumbkow (born July 22, 1983 in Leimen ) is a German rugby union player . Since 2006 he has been one of the few German representatives of this team sport who are active in a foreign professional league.

Career

In his early years, Clemens von Grumbkow played as an amateur for SC Neuenheim in the German rugby league , with which he won the German championship in 2003 and 2004. After a stopover at the New Zealand club Stoke RFC , he played from 2006 in the French Liga Fédérale 1 for the semi-professional club RC Orléans . In 2009 he finally came to the Italian club I Cavalieri Prato , which participates in the top division of his country, the Super 10 and has also been fighting for the European Challenge Cup since the 2010/11 season . In the 2012/13 season, von Grumbkow was used for the French second division team US Dax . From 2014 he played again in the German rugby league for the Heidelberg rowing club before moving to SC Neuenheim in 2016.

In addition to his work as a club player, Clemens von Grumbkow has already played for the German 15 and 7 national teams .
