Vujadin Savić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Вујадин Савић , born July 1, 1990 in Belgrade , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian football player who is preferably used in the position of the central defender .

Career

Career start in Belgrade

His active career as a football player began Savić at his home club, FK Red Star Belgrade , where he went through the various youth division. Due to his good performance in the offspring, the tall defender was awarded by the club's own youth team to FK Rad , who at that time was still playing in the second-rate Serbian Prva liga Srbija . There he made his competitive debut on March 23, 2008, when he was used from the start in the 1-1 home draw against FK Zemun and was replaced in the 78th minute by striker Nemanja Obradović . By the end of the season he came to another six championship appearances, where he was often used over the full game.

With the team at the end of the season he barely made it to the top Serbian league, the SuperLiga , but had the chance to get into the next higher division via the promotion play-off. After a close play-off course, the team made it to Serbia's top football league with a 4-2 win on penalties against FK BSK Borča . In the 2008/09 season , the young central defender made 18 appearances in the SuperLiga, in which, however, he remained goalless. He made his debut in the top Serbian league on August 23, 2008, when he was in the 1: 2 away defeat against FK Čukarički Stankom for the full duration of the game. After his number of his missions decreased towards the end of the season, he reached eighth place with the team in the table and thus secured relegation in the SuperLiga.

Return to Red Star Belgrade

After the rather poor performance with FK Rad, Savić returned to his actual home club in the Serbian capital at the end of the season. There, too, the 19-year-old couldn't really assert himself and made 14 championship appearances over the entire season. The defender made his competitive debut for his former training club on August 6, 2009 in a 5-2 win in the second leg of the 3rd Europa League qualifying round against Dinamo Tbilisi . Nine days after playing against the Georgians , Savić also made his league debut for the capital's club. As against Tbilisi, he played on August 15, 2009 in a 3-0 away win over FK Jagodina for the full length of the game. Furthermore, the young defender was able to gain further experience in European football when he was used in the qualifying play-off , actually the fourth qualifying round for the 2009/10 Europa League, in the return match against Slavia Prague . Within the league, it lasted until the tenth round, until Savić was back under Vladimir Petrović .

Over the entire season, Savić made 14 appearances in the SuperLiga, of which he only completed five over the full game. With the team he reached the end of the season with seven points behind FK Partizan Belgrade , but 21 points ahead of the next-placed pursuer OFK Belgrade , the second place in the table. Another great success for the 1.94 m long defense line on the way to becoming a major player in European football in central defense. After Savić attracted attention across national borders, especially through his work in the Serbian U-21 national team , he received first offers from larger European clubs, including the French first division club Girondins Bordeaux .

Change to France

It was he who brought the now 20-year-old to him on July 23, 2010 and gave him a five-year contract. The day after signing his contract, he made his first official appearance as a Girondins-Bordeaux player when he scored the only goal of the encounter in favor of his team in a friendly against FC Tours . But his first competitive game was not long in coming. On August 7, 2010, the first matchday of the 2010/11 season , the tall defender was used for the full 90 minutes in the 0-1 away defeat against HSC Montpellier . This was followed by seven more championship appearances and one goal.

From January 2012 to July 2013 Savić was loaned to Dynamo Dresden and played 33 second division games for the Saxons. In summer 2013 he returned to Bordeaux before Savić was awarded to Arminia Bielefeld in January 2014 .

In 2015 Savić received a contract with Watford FC in England ; since mid-2015 he has been playing for Sheriff Tiraspol .

From the U-17 to the U-21 national team

Savić was able to gain his first experience in a junior team in his native country in 2006, when he was appointed to the Serbian U-17 squad for the first time . With the team he took part in qualifying for the U-17 European Championship in 2007 , but did not manage with the team to qualify for the finals in Belgium . After further appearances for the Serbian U-19 team , for which he often acted in a very dangerous manner, he joined the Serbian U-21 national team for the first time in 2009 , for which he has been in eleven to date (as of October 10, 2010) completed internationals four times. He also took part in a European Championship qualification with the U-21s. With the team, he retired early in qualifying for the U-21 European Championship 2011 as third in Group 7 and so cannot participate in the European Championship finals in Sweden .
