Vid Belec (born June 6, 1990 in Maribor ) is a Slovenian football goalkeeper. He is under contract with Sampdoria Genoa and is awarded to APOEL Nicosia .
Club career
Inter Milan
Belec, who was also a talented tennis player in his youth, started his career in the youth team of NK Maribor . After taking part in a trial session at Inter Milan in December 2006 , he was signed up in January 2007 at the age of 16. He played three and a half seasons in various Inter youth teams. In his first season he won the Campionato Primavera as a replacement for Paolo Tornaghi . In 2008 he won the prestigious Torneo di Viareggio with Inters Primavera , where he saved the decisive penalty in the final against the youth team of FC Empoli on penalties.
Under José Mourinho , Belec was used as the fourth goalkeeper of the A team in some preparation games. In November 2009 he signed a five-year contract.
FC Crotone
On July 6, 2010 Belec was awarded in Serie B to FC Crotone . He made his debut on September 4, 2010 and established himself as a regular goalkeeper over the course of the season. He completed 50 league games in Serie B and two games in Coppa Italia for Crotone .
Return to Inter Milan
In the summer of 2012, Belec returned to Inter Milan and became third goalkeeper behind his compatriot Samir Handanovič and Luca Castellazzi . He made his competitive debut for Inter on August 30, 2012 in the UEFA Europa League against FC Vaslui : After Luca Castellazzi saw the red card , he came on for Antonio Cassano in the 34th minute .
SC Olhanense
During the 2013 summer break, Belec and his teammate Daniel Bessa were loaned to SC Olhanense in the Portuguese Primeira Liga until June 30, 2014 .
Konyaspor
On September 1, 2014, Belec moved on loan to the Turkish Süper Lig to Torku Konyaspor . He left Konyaspor again for the next winter break.
From Inter to Carpi
The loan with Konyaspor was terminated early and Belec spent the second half of the 2014/15 season at Inter Milan, but was not used. So it was handed over to FC Carpi in summer 2015 . Belec was able to prevail at Carpi and played 30 games in Serie A in the 2015/16 season . Despite the relegation, he stayed with Carpi and came with the team in the play-offs, where they were defeated in the final, however, Benevento Calcio .
Benevento Calcio
In the summer of 2017, Belec switched to the play-off winner, and with it Serie A promoted Benevento Calcio. In the first half of the 2017/18 season , Belec made 13 appearances for Benevento.
Sampdoria Genoa
In January 2018 Belec moved to Sampdoria Genua on loan .
