Musa Suleiman al-Taamari ( Arabic موسى سليمان التعمري, DMG Mūsā Sulaimān at-Taʿmarī ; * June 10, 1997 in Amman ) is a Jordanian football player who has been under contract with the Cypriot first division club APOEL Nicosia since July 2018 . The winger has been a Jordanian international since August 2016 .
Career
society
Musa al-Taamari began his football career with Shabab al-Ordon in the top Jordanian league, the Jordan League . There he was promoted to the first team in the summer of 2016, made it to the starting line-up within a very short time and won the Jordan FA Shield with the team this season .
In September 2017 he switched to league rivals al-Jazeera on loan , where he finally made his breakthrough. There he showed strong performances, scored six goals in the 2018 AFC Cup , led his team to victory in the Jordan FA Cup and with three goals to the runner-up title. Because of his lively, fast and explosive style of play, he was soon referred to by the media as the Jordanian Mohamed Salah .
At the end of May 2018, al-Taamari's move to the Cypriot first division club APOEL Nicosia was announced, where he signed a three-year contract. He made his debut on 11 July in a 3-1 away defeat by Lithuanian FK Sūduva Marijampolė in the first qualifying round of the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League . He scored for the first time on August 9 in a 2-2 draw against Israeli Hapoel Be'er Scheva in the third qualifying round of the 2018/19 UEFA Europa League . In this 2018/19 season he played in 26 league games and contributed nine goals to the championship title. In the following season 2019/20 he scored three goals in 20 league games and prepared six more goals.
National team
On August 31, 2016, he made his debut in a 1-1 draw in the friendly international match against Lebanon for the Jordanian national team . He scored his first goal on March 23, 2017 in a 4-0 win in the friendly against Hong Kong .
In January 2019 he and his home country took part in the 2019 Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates . In the 2-0 victory in the group game against Syria , he scored a goal and prepared another goal by Tareq Khattab . Jordan survived the group stage and failed in the round of 16 against Vietnam .
