Somme-Vesle is about 18 kilometers east-northeast of the city center of Chalons-en-Champagne . The river Vesle has its source here . Somme-Vesle is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Remy-sur-Bussy and Tilloy-et-Bellay in the north, Auve in the east and northeast, Herpont in the east, Poix in the south and Courtisols in the west.
