Aigny is a French commune with 275 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Marne department in the Grand Est region (until 2015: Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Châlons-en-Champagne and the canton Châlons-en-Champagne-2 . The inhabitants call themselves Aquanidiens .

geography

Aigny is located about 28 kilometers south-southeast of Reims and 13 kilometers northwest of Châlons-en-Champagne in the Marne river valley . The place itself is on the Canal latéral à la Marne . Aigny is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Isse in the north, Les Grandes-Loges in the northeast, Vraux in the east and southeast, Aulnay-sur-Marne in the south, Jâlons in the southwest and Condé-sur-Marne in the west.
