Recy is a French commune with 1,031 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Marne department in the Grand Est region (until 2015: Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Châlons-en-Champagne and the canton Châlons-en-Champagne-2 . The residents call themselves Recyots .

geography

Recy is located about 37 kilometers southeast of Reims and four kilometers northwest of Châlons-en-Champagne in the Marne river valley . The place itself is on the Canal latéral à la Marne . Recy is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Juvigny in the north and north-west, La Veuve in the north, L'Épine in the north-east, Saint-Martin-sur-le-Pré in the east and south-east, Fagnières in the south, Saint-Gibrien in the south-west and Matougues in the west .

The A26 autoroute runs through the west of the municipality and Route nationale 44 through the northeast .
