Omey is a French commune with 211 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Marne department in the Grand Est region (before 2016: Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Châlons-en-Champagne and the canton Châlons-en-Champagne-3 (until 2015: canton Marson ). The inhabitants are called Omyats .

geography

Omey is located about 17 kilometers south-southeast of the city center of Chalons-en-Champagne on the Marne River , which borders the municipality in the south-west. Omey is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pogny in the north and west, Francheville in the northeast and La Chaussée-sur-Marne in the south and east.

The National Route 44 runs through the municipality .
