The municipality is located in northeast France in the Champagne countryside . Fagnières is a banlieue in the west of Châlons-en-Champagne . The Marne flows on the northeastern edge of the municipality . Fagnières is surrounded by the municipalities of Recy in the north, Saint-Martin-sur-le-Pré in the northeast, Châlons-en-Champagne in the east, Compertrix in the south and Villers-le-Château in the west.
