Vatry is a French commune with 158 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Marne department in the Grand Est region (before 2016 Champagne-Ardenne ). It belongs to the arrondissement Châlons-en-Champagne and the canton Châlons-en-Champagne-3 (until 2015 Écury-sur-Coole ). The inhabitants are called Vatriots .

geography

Vatry is located about 17 kilometers south-southwest of Châlons-en-Champagne in the valley of the Soude river . Neighboring communities are Soudron in the north and west, Breuvery-sur-Coole in the northeast and Bussy-Lettrée in the south and east.

Vatry is the namesake for Châlons Vatry Airport . However, this is in the municipalities of Vassimont-et-Chapelaine , Bussy-Lettrée and Haussimont .
