Luca Castellazzi (* 19th July 1975 , Gorgonzola ) is a former Italian football - goalkeeper .

Career

The goalkeeper began his professional career in 1993 with the then third division club AC Monza Brianza , where he was not yet able to play in the first team in his first season in Serie C1 . For the following season 1994/95 a change on loan followed in the fourth highest division to FC Varese . There he fought for the first time a regular place and was in 18 of 34 games in the goal of the Lombard team. After his return to Monza Brianza in the summer of 1995, he succeeded there in asserting himself against his competitors and securing a regular place. In the following year, Castellazzi joined the second division team Calcio Padova . In the seasons 1996/97 and 1997/98 he received regular assignments in Serie B, but could not assert himself decisively and rose with the team in Serie C1. In the spring of 1999, the goalkeeper signed at Pescara Calcio , where he only played three league games and a few months later was given to Brescia Calcio .

His involvement with Brescia was not consistently successful either. Acting as a substitute goalkeeper until 2001, he fought for a regular place in the team during 2001 and secured promotion to Serie A with the team . At the end of the 2001/02 season , Castellazzi and Brescia had a balance sheet of 40 points, with which they were able to stay in the top division due to a more point won compared to Hellas Verona, who were ranked 15th . Although he had played all league games in that season, two transfers followed on loan in the following season, in which the goalkeeper acted for league rivals Reggina Calcio and second division Catania Calcio . After the loan period expired, he returned to Brescia. After the 2004/05 season he rose with the club as second from bottom from the top division and then signed with Sampdoria Genoa .

In his first season he was used in three league games with the Genoese, he also played four games each in the UEFA Cup and the Italian cup competition, the Coppa Italia . The 2007/08 season ended in sixth place and qualification for the UEFA Cup was achieved again. After the group stage with the opponents Standard Liège , VfB Stuttgart , FC Sevilla and FK Partizan Belgrade was successfully survived, the team lost a round later against Metalist Kharkiv and was eliminated from the competition. After five years in Genoa, Castellazzi decided to leave the club. In June 2010 he signed a contract with Inter Milan that was valid until the end of June 2012 . On May 11, 2012 it was announced that Castellazzi would extend his contract with Inter until June 30, 2014. After his contract expired, Castellazzi moved to Turin FC .

After playing for Turin FC in two years, Castellazzi ended his career in the summer of 2016.
