Clemens von Lilien-Borg

Josef Clemens Franz Michael Freiherr von Lilien-Borg (born August 15, 1776 in Werl ; † March 12, 1852 ibid) was a German landowner and politician from the von Lilien family .

Clemens von Lilien-Borg was the son of Christoph Freiherr von Lilien-Borg (* 1748 in Vienna; † 1825). The father was Reichspostdirektor and later landowner on Borg and Lahr near Menden. Between 1785 and 1819 he was Colonel of the Sälzer several times .

Clemens von Lilien-Borg studied law in Münster and Würzburg from 1794 to 1798. After his father's death he became landowner in Borg and Lahr and Sälzeroberst, an office which he held until 1831. From 1826 to 1846 he was a member of the board of directors of the Rhein-Weser railway company and was also a shareholder in the company.

He was elected for the constituency of Mark in 1826 as a deputy and from 1828 to 1845 as a regular member of the provincial parliament of the province of Westphalia . In 1847 he was a member of the United State Parliament . He was an alderman in Werl.

In 1829 he was appointed Chamberlain and awarded the 3rd Class Red Eagle Order .
