Honorary citizen
The city of Öhringen granted honorary citizenship to the following people who have made a special contribution to the good or reputation of the municipality :
- 1906: Georg Goppel (1856–1935), teacher and councilor, promoter of gymnasium construction and for a long time a manager in the trade association
- 1914: Karl Krauss (1847–1917), head clerk in Öhringen from 1875 to 1914 , made a significant contribution to founding the Sparkasse and was the initiator of the Hohenlohe-Öhringen overland plant
- 1911: Louis Bauer, master confectioner, member of the municipal council from 1880 to 1911
- 1918: Christian Kraft Prince of Hohenlohe-Öhringen (1848–1926)
- 1929: August Weygang (1859–1946), entrepreneur ( tin caster ), member of the municipal council for more than 30 years, bequeathed his fortune to the city as a foundation, his estate is housed in the Weygang Museum
- 1948: Wilhelm Sattelmayer († 1954), entrepreneur, numerous foundations for Öhringen (including for the Sattelmayer Bridge )
- 1964: Otto Meister (1904–1985), entrepreneur ( Huber Packaging Group ), cared particularly about sport and youth (Otto Meister Foundation)
Citizen Medal Holder
Since 1964 it is possible contributions to the welfare and prestige of the city by the award of a Public Service Medal to honor. It can be awarded in gold or silver by a two-thirds majority in the local council. The holders of the citizen's medal are:

- 1971: Karl Schumm (1900–1976), archivist and head of the Hohenlohe central archive in Neuenstein, numerous publications about Öhringen, was not a citizen of Öhringen
- 1973: Max Esenwein (1880–1979), pastor and musician, left valuable records about the time of the Third Reich, took care of the refugees and children after the Second World War, and headed the orchestra club
- 1971: Fritz Megerle, butcher and innkeeper, member of the municipal council for 24 years, deputy mayor for twelve years
- 1974: Karl Weber, city treasurer, long-time chairman of the gymnastics and sports community, the sports district and the Hohenlohe gymnastics district, collaboration in the district youth council and at the adult education center
