Heinrich Dauber (educationalist)

Heinrich Dauber (born March 12, 1944 in Öhringen ) is a German educationalist . From 1978 to 2009 he was professor of educational science with a focus on educational and school theory at the University of Kassel .

Life

Dauber studied from 1963 to 1965 at what was then the Heidelberg University of Education and from 1965 to 1966 was a school teacher in the state of Baden-Württemberg . From 1966 to 1972 Dauber studied educational science, psychology and Protestant theology in Heidelberg and Tübingen. During the lecture-free period, he was a substitute teacher in the school service of the state of Baden-Württemberg. Between 1965 and 1968 he worked several times in Israeli kibbutzim . In 1972 he received his doctorate in educational science with a paper on "The role of the teacher and socialization: the application of the role model in advance of a theory of the teacher". Dauber then became a research assistant at the Institute for Educational Science and at the Theological Seminar of the University of Tübingen (with Karl Ernst Nipkow ).

In 1974 he did a research stay at the Centro Intercultural de Documentación (CIDOC) in Cuernavaca, Mexico, founded by Ivan Illich . From 1977 to 1978 he was a substitute professor at Bielefeld University. In 1978 Dauber was finally appointed professor of educational science at the University of Kassel (focus: educational theory and school theory, including further education). In 1979 he was Visiting Professor of Adult Education at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon , Canada. Together with Reinhard Fuhr , Dauber developed the concept of phenomenological practice research, which was first published in 2002.

In 2009 Heinrich Dauber retired.
