Cliff Barrows

Cliff "Burton" Barrows (born April 6, 1923 in Ceres (California) , † November 15, 2016 in Charlotte (North Carolina) ) was an American musician and evangelical minister.

Life

Barrows grew up in California . He graduated from Bob Jones University . His main subjects included not only church music and the drama of William Shakespeare . After graduating in 1944, he was ordained a Baptist church pastor and initially worked for three years for the evangelical organization Youth for Christ . He then worked in various positions and functions for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association , including as a choir director and musical director. Barrows was next to Billy Graham ,George Beverly Shea and Grady Wilson one of the people who committed themselves to a voluntary code of conduct , the so-called Modesto Manifesto , as a principle of their work. In 1988 Barrows was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame .
