Clifford J. Rogers

Clifford Jeffrey Rogers (born October 17, 1967 ) is an American historian .

Life

Rogers graduated from Rice University (BA) in Houston, Texas and Ohio State University (MA) in Columbus, Ohio. In 1994 he earned a Ph.D. (Subject: War Cruel and Sharp. English Strategy under Edward III, 1327–60 ) in History in Columbus.

He was u. a. from 1994 to 1995 John M. Olin Postdoctoral Fellow in military and strategic history at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut; from 2005 to 2006 he was Leverhulme Visiting Professor at the Callaghan Center for Conflict Studies at Swansea University , and Fulbright Fellow at the Institute of Historical Research in London. Since 2006 he has been Professor of History in the Department of History at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York, where he has taught since 1995.

His main research interests are military history and medieval history . He is u. a. Associate Editor of the Journal of Medieval Military History and Editor of the three volume Oxford Encyclopedia of Medieval Warfare and Military Technology . He is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of War in History magazine .

He has been a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society since 2004 .
