The Clinch Peak is a 4841 m high mountain peak in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises 2.2 km southeast of Mount Vinson on the summit plateau of the Vinson massif in the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2006 after the US mountaineer Nicholas Bayard Clinch , head of the American Antarctic Mountaineering Expedition (1966-1967), in which the first ascent of the Vinson massif and other high mountains in the Sentinel Range succeeded.
