Allée couverte by Coët-Correc
The Allée couverte of Coët-Correc is located in the municipality of Mûr-de-Bretagne on the border with Caurel in the extreme south of the Côtes-d'Armor department in Brittany in France .
description
The approximately 12.0 m long Allée couverte has a lateral corridor near one end, of which only two panels have been preserved. The access to the chamber consists of a round soul hole , which was carved out as double semicircles from the wall panels on the access side. The complex, deprived of its ceiling tiles, consists of 25 slate supporting stones . The main chamber is about 1.5 m wide, up to 2.0 m high, but only the two westernmost capstones are still in situ .
The Neolithic structure was disfigured by the addition of a slate portico bearing a cross or a calvary .
The north coast of Brittany has a few gallery graves with side entrances , which are similar in plan to the northern European passage grave . The best known is the Crec'h Quillé plant, discovered in 1955 . Also worth mentioning are the Allée couverte de la Couette in Ploufragan from Champ Grosset in Quessoy, Kerivin in Saint-Pol-de-Léon or three Allées couvertes of La Roche Camio , Petit-Chêne and La Ville-Gle in Plédran , the was only pointed out in 1989 by a primary school teacher. PR Giot keeps the systems in L-shape and those with lateral access for the latest developments in system construction.
Nearby is the gallery grave Allée couverte by Corn-er-Houët .
