Colin James Murdock (born July 2, 1975 in Ballymena , County Antrim ) is a former Northern Irish football player. He is on the board of directors of the Professional Footballers' Association .

Club career

After school, Murdock joined Manchester United at the age of 16 and graduated from the youth academy there. He was able to achieve second place in the FA Youth Cup with his team in 1993 . At the same time, he studied law in his home country. In the following year Colin Murdock made the leap into the professional squad, where he was never used. In 1997 he was for 100,000 pounds to Preston transferred .

The move was very beneficial to his career. He came to over 200 missions for his new club and in 2000 was able to celebrate promotion to the then second-class First Division including the championship title.

In 2003 he switched to the Scottish first division club Hibernian FC. In 2004 he scored the decisive goal in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup against the Glasgow Rangers. During the winter break of 2005, Murdock came to Crewe Alexandria, where he was able to avert impending relegation. With Rotherham United and Shrewsbury Town, two other shorter stays followed. When he was released in spring 2008, he was able to find a new club with Accrington Stanley. After one season, he ended his career at the age of 38.
