Luke altar of the medical faculty

The northeast chapel of the Salzburg Collegiate Church , with the altar sheet donated by the Admont Abbey in 1720, depicting St. Luke , is dedicated to the College of Medicine . The evangelist Luke writes seated, next to him has a sick person who is being cared for by a woman. In front an ox and two puttos holding a book of herbs. On the right in the background the martyrdom of the saint, above three large angels. The figures on the side are St. Aegydius and St. Magnus , both by Josef Anton Pfaffinger . The miraculous image of Wessobrunn used to be erected here and is now on the altar of the Jus chapel . In its place is the image of the Virgin Mary, which was formerly attached to the Borromeo Altar and which is too large on the Altar of St.

In the wall niches are the statues of St. Nepomuk ( speculative from Pfaffinger ), Antonius , Franz von Assisi and Johannes Evangelista ( sp. Pfaffinger ).
