Collie Herb (* 29. August 1986 in Olten as Patrick Bütschi ) is a Swiss singer-songwriter , who on Swiss German reggae and dancehall singing. His stage name means something like marijuana in the Jamaican-Creole language .

biography

Before starting his music career, he completed a commercial apprenticeship (KV) and worked for a fair trade label. After two underground mixtapes and guest appearances on albums by other musicians, he released his first CD Every Day EP in 2011 with his band The Vibe Controllers . In 2012 he took part with the same band at the largest reggae festival, the Rototom Sunsplash , in Spain. In 2013 he was awarded the Music Prize by the Canton of Solothurn . In the same year he released his album Authentisch . In 2014 he sang at the European Reggae Contest in the semifinals in Berlin and in the finals in Bordeaux . In 2015 he took part in the benefit concert for refugees Be aware and share . In 2016 he started working with the Swiss reggae band Mighty Roots .

Herb has been described as a “carefree crossover between reggae and hip-hop , combining positive dancehall energy with the thrilling power of rap”.
