Comala is a village in the Mexican state of Colima , the administrative seat of the Municipio Comala and popularly known as the white place . Because of its beauty, it was declared a Pueblo Magico . The novel Pedro Páramo by Juan Rulfo also takes place here .

The place is 25 km south of the Colima volcano . The portals in the town are particularly famous, especially the typical botaneros (from the Spanish botana: snack), where you can get free food with your beer , usually with live music.
