Commando Delta

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Commando Delta were terrorist units that belonged to the OAS in Algeria . They were active in the early 1960s. For example, the units killed Muslim Algerians who lived in neighborhoods of white Christian Algerian-French people in order to ethnically cleanse these neighborhoods. The Commando Delta units were set up and commanded by Roger Degueldre in 1961. Degueldre deserted from the Foreign Legion in 1961 .

The Commandos Delta were also actively involved in the murder of French who opposed the "French Algeria Cause" and were viewed by the OAS as traitors. The French police officer Roger Gavoury, for example, was a victim of such attacks. However, it is suspected that the French secret service Direction Générale de la Sécurité Extérieure (DGSE) or the Service d'Action Civique also committed murders in order to blame the OAS.
