The Communauté de communes de Haute Maurienne Vanoise is a former French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Savoie department , whose administrative seat was in the Commune nouvelle Val-Cenis .
The community association consisted of three communities on an area of 618.9 km 2 . It lay on the border with Italy in the eastern Maurienne and closed off the Arc Valley. The second part of the name referred to the Vanoise National Park , to which the northern areas of the community association belonged. Due to the national park itself and winter sports facilities outside the park, the municipalities were very much geared towards tourism; the small number of inhabitants contrasted with around 25,000 beds in hotels, holiday homes and second homes.
tasks
The competencies required included developing and promoting economic activities and tourism, as well as spatial planning. The community association operated the road maintenance service, the rescue services and the garbage collection and disposal.
Historical development
The Communauté de communes, founded at the end of 2001, goes back to a predecessor association called District de Haute Maurienne , which was formed in February 1973. With the formation of the Commune nouvelle Val-Cenis with effect from January 1, 2017, the number of member communities was reduced from seven to three.
With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association merged with the Communauté de communes Terra Modana and thus formed the successor organization Communauté de communes Haute Maurienne Vanoise . Despite the great similarity of names, it is a start-up with its own legal personality!
