The Communauté de communes Terra Modana is a former French community association with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the department of Savoie , whose administrative seat was in Modane . The community association consisted of seven communities on an area of 230.9 km 2 .
tasks
The competencies required included developing and promoting economic activities and tourism. The community association steered housing policy, operated road maintenance and rescue services and was active in environmental issues such as water supply and wastewater treatment. The association also built and maintained sports and cultural facilities.
Historical development
At the end of 1998, the two municipalities of Avrieux and Villarodin-Bourget joined together to form an association that later became the Communauté de communes de la Norma , named after the La Norma ski area . At the same time, the canton of Modane took over tourism promotion and has been marketing the region since December 2004 under the name Terra Modana . On January 1, 2014, these two structures were merged; the Communauté de communes de la Norma, which was expanded to include the entire canton of Modane, has since appeared as Terra Modana .
With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association merged with the Communauté de communes de Haute Maurienne Vanoise and thus formed the successor organization Communauté de communes Haute Maurienne Vanoise . Despite the great similarity of names, it is a start-up with its own legal personality!
