Gleb Weniaminowitsch Filschtinsky

Gleb Weniaminowitsch Filschtinski ( Russian Глеб Вениаминович Фильштинский ; born October 2, 1970 in Leningrad ) is a Russian lighting designer .

life and work

Filschtinski studied at the St. Petersburg Academy for Theater Arts, where he already specialized in stage design . As a lighting designer, he designed numerous theater productions as well as show programs including pyrotechnics . In 1996 he founded the workshop "Lighting for Theater" together with Jewgeni Ginsburg . He works regularly at the Mariinsky and Alexandrinsky Theater in St. Petersburg and at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. More recent productions have also taken him to Munich, Berlin, Paris and New York, to the English National Opera in London and to the Zurich Opera House . He works regularly with the directors Dmitri Tschernjakow and Alvis Hermanis , with Hermanis soon also for Madama Butterfly at La Scala in Milan .

Gleb Filschtinski is a member of the Union of Theater Workers of Russia and the All-Russian Society of Lighting Designers .
