Hughie Lewis Fury (born September 18, 1994 in Stockport , England ) is a British boxer . He comes from a family of Irish travelers and, like his cousin Tyson Fury, is trained by his father Peter Fury . The normal boom is managed by Matthew Macklin .
Amateur career
At the age of 18, Fury became the first and so far only British boxer to win a gold medal at the AIBA- organized youth world championships with points over Guido Vianello , Akram Abdisamatov, Kanagat Akhmedov, Narek Melkonyan and the Indian Narender in Yerevan , Armenia , in 2012 Super heavyweight .
Professional career
His debut in professional boxing won Fury on March 22, 2013 in Montreal against David Whittom by knockout in the second round.
Fury's stated goal was to break Mike Tyson 's record and become the youngest world heavyweight champion. However, he did not succeed. Nevertheless, alongside Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, former world heavyweight champions of the WBA , IBF , WBO and IBO associations , he is regarded as one of the great hopes in the heavyweight division .
In 2014 he beat his compatriot Danny Hughes (balance 12-2-2) over 8 and in 2015 the Ukrainian Andriy Rudenko (balance 24-1-0) over 10 rounds on points.
After four more victories against opponents , including the 40-year-old Michael Grant victim Dominick Guinn , who already had 10 defeats, The Fist of Fury , so Fury's battle name, played against the Cameroonian Fred Kassi (balance 18-4- 1) for the vacant WBO Inter-Continental title in the Copper Box Arena in London and won in the seventh round with a "technical point decision".
Fury was a mandatory challenger to the previously undefeated New Zealand WBO world champion Joseph Parker (23-0-0). The fight was scheduled for May 2017, but had to be postponed due to an injury to Fury. On September 23 of the same year, the two boxers competed in the Manchester Arena . Parker won this hard-to-evaluate fight controversially by majority decision and thus inflicted his first defeat on Fury.
On May 12 of the following year Fury fought in Macron Stadium in Bolton , England , against Sam Sexton (24-3-0 record) to the traditional British Championship of the Association of British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC short), winning by technical knockout in the fifth round.
