The Comunità Montana Alta Val Trebbia is a political union of the Ligurian communities Fascia , Fontanigorda , Gorreto , Montebruno , Propata , Rondanina , Rovegno and Torriglia to form a Comunità montana .
It is located in the Trebbia valley in the Ligurian metropolitan city of Genoa and borders the province of Alessandria in the north . Part of the Comunità Montana is located in the Parco naturale regional dell'Antola (Antola Regional Nature Park).
In the decades after the Second World War , the region experienced a drastic rural exodus towards the coast (with a focus on Genoa ) and the large metropolitan areas in the Po Valley , such as Milan . However, in recent years the rural communities have slowly regained their population. This phenomenon is mainly due to the influx of pensioners and professionals who work in the Ligurian capital but prefer to live in rural areas.
The economy of the Comunità Montana is mainly focused on agriculture and tourism , which in the summer is mostly local.
