Connie Breukhoven
Cornelia Jacoba Breukhoven-Witteman (* 25. July 1951 in Voorburg , South Holland as Cornelia Jacoba Witteman ) is a Dutch singer who in the early 1980s under the name Vanessa was known.
Career
Cornelia Jacoba Witteman worked as a photo model before she released her first single, In The Heat Of The Night , under the name Vanessa in 1981 , which made it into the top 40 of the Dutch charts. A year later she had her greatest success with the disco hit Upside Down : The single reached number 2 on the charts and sold over 150,000 times. Further top 10 placements followed until 1984, after which the commercial success and the public's interest in their music subsided. In total, she was able to place 11 singles in the top 100 in the Netherlands in the 1980s. With Just Conny she released a jazz album in 2010, now under the name Conny.
In 1982 she had a role in the Dutch feature film De boezemvriend . Numerous other television appearances by the media star, who was popular at the time, followed. In 1984 she had herself photographed for the Dutch edition of Playboy . Likewise revealing pictures appeared in the penthouse (Dec. 1986). She married her third husband, Free Record Shop owner Hans Breukhoven, in 1987 and the marriage lasted until 2009.
