Hugo Dietsche

Hugo Dietsche (born March 31, 1963 ), from Kriessern in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland , is a former wrestler , youth world champion and winner of an Olympic bronze medal in the Greco-Roman style.

Life

Hugo Dietsche started wrestling in Kriessern at the age of nine, trained by Sepp Gisler, who was then head coach of the Kriessern wrestling squad . The Kriessern wrestling relay is one of the big names in wrestling in Switzerland. At the age of 18 Hugo Dietsche became World Youth Champion in Colorado Springs . He won the bronze medal at the 1984 Olympics in Greco-Roman style (GR). He took part in two more Olympic Games as a representative for Switzerland. At the 1988 Olympic Games and the 1992 Olympic Gameshe reached the 8th final rank. At the European Championships he won a silver and a bronze medal. He is also a multiple Swiss champion in the individual and with the team. For four years he fought for AC Bad Reichenhall in Germany. In addition to his sports career, he worked part-time. His wrestling career lasted more than 20 years. In December 1999 he ended his career as an active wrestler with the title: Most successful wrestler in Switzerland in the last 50 years . He began a career as a coach with the Kriessern wrestling squad, where he is now head coach.
