Conrad Amber (* 13. July 1955 in Hohenems as Heinz Conrad Mathis) is a Austrian book author , nature photographer , lecturer and green consultant.

Life

As a child, Conrad Amber accompanied his father on the hunt, and his interest in nature was aroused. From 1977 he accompanied the Schubertiade Vorarlberg in Hohenems as a photographer for ten years , where he gained experience for later photography of the forests of Europe. In 1981 he founded the Farbenlaube and in 2001 the KunstKontakt in Dornbirn , both companies that deal with art. In 1985 he founded the KunstRaumDornbirn with Gerhard Winkler and Hans Dünser , and is an active member of the board. The love for nature and his passion for photography became his life after the handover of his company. Conrad Amber has three daughters and lives in Dornbirn.

Publications

From 2005 onwards, Amber became increasingly active as a nature photographer and author and sold his specialist art materials store. He published two books on trees, forests and our attitude towards nature. Both books met with great interest in the print media, specialist magazines, radio and TV stations and were widely reviewed and cited.

Amber uses his knowledge as a consultant for existing trees and tree locations, greening and renaturation, natural forests, urn forests ( peace forests ) and green concepts for companies and municipalities. He is committed to the preservation of old trees, avenues and strips of alluvial forest . As a lecturer, he is often on the road in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Likewise in interviews and discussions, forums and on the various social networks.

His tree photographs can be found in the inatura nature museum in Dornbirn, in numerous hotels, health facilities, hospitals and in specialist magazines, in the forest newspaper, in books and online platforms.

Amber has been working as a consultant for municipalities such as Hohenems and the Walgau region since 2018 . There he gives personal advice and advice on greening buildings such as creating roof gardens , plant facades and renaturing gardens.
