Conradus von Cochem (Kochem) (* around 1650 probably in Cochem ; † April 5, 1717 in Cologne ) was a German Benedictine and abbot of St. Pantaleon (Cologne) .

life and career

On 24 September 1667, he received the Benedictine Abbey of St. Pantaleon the consecration to Subdeacon and there on March 22, 1670, the ordination as priests . On October 24, 1687 he was elected Abbot of St. Pantaleon. He held this office until his death in 1717. In 1695/96 he had a radical redesign of the former Benedictine abbey carried out, which was connected with a lowering of the choir , whereby the crypt with the donor grave of St. Bruno and Theophanu (wife of Emperor Otto II (973-983) and grandparents of the Queen of Poland Richeza ) was ruthlessly filled in (in 1747 the graves were rediscovered and placed in the choir room). He assisted in many episcopal ordinations in Cologne Cathedral , on May 27, 1705 at the Requiem for Emperor Leopold , on March 21, 1714 at the ordination of the abbot in Kornelimünster and on July 21, 1715 in Hungary at the introduction of the provost to the Augustinian Canons - Pen in develics.
