Constance Titus
Constance Sutton Titus (born August 14, 1873 in Pass Christian , Mississippi , † August 24, 1967 in Bronxville , New York ) was an American rower .
Constance Titus rowed for the New York Atalanta Boat Club . He won three US titles in singles and one in doubles .
At the 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louis , four rowers from the United States started in a single; the winner of the Henley Royal Regatta Louis Scholes from Canada had entered but did not compete. On the 1.5 mile route Frank Greer won in 10: 08.5 minutes with two boat lengths ahead of James Juvenal , half a boat length behind Constance Titus crossed the finish line in third place.
After his career, Titus was a row coach at Princeton for a few years, but then returned to New York and worked as an insurance broker for many years.
