Constantin Koszka (born September 17, 1939 in Arad ) is a former Romanian football player . He played 252 games in the highest Romanian football league, Divizia A , and took part in the 1964 Olympic Games .

Career

Koszka's career began in 1957 with UTA Arad in his hometown. In his first season he came only to three missions, but was able to fight for a regular place in the season 1958/59 . In the summer of 1959 he moved to league rivals Rapid Bucharest . Here, too, he secured a permanent place in the team after teething problems during the 1960/61 season . In the same year he moved with his club into the cup final , but was subject to the second division Arieșul Turda .

During the winter break of 1961/62 Koszka returned to UTA Arad. As with his first engagement, the club struggled to avoid relegation in the Divizia A . In the meantime Koszka had become a national player in the summer of 1963 with the top team Steaua Bucharest . He also reached the cup final with his new club in 1964 , but lost to Dinamo Bucharest 3: 5. Since Dinamo had also won the championship , Steaua qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup . There Koszka made his debut in international club competitions, but retired after qualifying in the first round against Dinamo Zagreb .

After he lost his regular place in the second half of the 1964/65 season, Koszka left Steaua in the summer of 1965 and moved to Farul Constanța . With the team from the Black Sea coast he placed himself in the midfield of the league for five years before turning his back on the club in 1970. After a season with Portul Constanța in Divizia B , he ended his career in 1972.

National team

Koszka played 21 games for the Romanian national football team . He made his debut on September 30, 1962 in a friendly against Morocco . He had a permanent place in the team of national coach Constantin Teaşcă and was also considered by his successor Gheorghe Popescu . With the team he missed qualifying for the European Championship in 1964 , but was able to qualify for the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo . There he was used in five games.

After a three-year break, Koszka returned to the national team in October 1967. He played his last international match on December 6, 1967 against the GDR .
