Constantinos Charalambides ( Greek Κωνσταντίνος Χαραλαμπίδης Konstandinos Charalambidis , born July 25, 1981 in Nicosia ) is a former Cypriot soccer player who last played for AEK Larnaka .
Career
Konstantinos Charalambides began his professional career in his native Nicosia with APOEL Nicosia in the first Cypriot league. At APOEL, Charalambides quickly came to the fore and won the Cypriot Super Cup three times in addition to two championships and a cup. Overall, Charalambides came to APOEL to 122 appearances and 25 goals. In January 2005, Charalambides finally moved to Greece to Panathinaikos Athens . After initial problems getting used to it, the Cypriot played his way into the regular formation at Panathinaikos and made his debut in the UEFA Champions League for the first time , scoring his first Champions League goal against Udinese Calcio . In 2006 Charalambides moved to PAOK Thessaloniki as part of an exchange deal on loan . After PAOK could not meet outstanding salary payments in January 2007, however, Charalambides moved back to Panathinaikos, where he was under contract until the end of the season. In August 2007, the second division club FC Carl Zeiss Jena signed him , but in January 2008 he returned to APOEL Nicosia. After a total of 8.5 years at APOEL, he moved to league rivals AEK Larnaka in summer 2016 .
He played a total of 87 games (5 goals) in various European Cup competitions.
Charalambides, was an integral part of the Cypriot national team . He played in attacking midfield and preferred to act on the right attacking side.
