Constanze Rossmann

Constanze Rossmann (born August 17, 1974 in Munich ) is a German communications scientist and university professor .

Life

Rossmann, daughter of a doctor and a Munich city councilor, studied saxophone at the Neue Jazzschool Munich from 1993 and graduated in 1995 with a diploma . She then took up a master’s degree in communication science, psycholinguistics and psychology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . She received her master's degree with the thesis The ideal world of television. A Study of Cultivation by Hospital Series . In 2001 she became a research assistant at Hans-Bernd Brosius , who also supervised her doctorate at the University of Munich in 2007 . She submitted the dissertation Fiction Reality. A model of information processing in the cultivation process .

Until her habilitation in 2014, Rossmann remained as a temporary academic advisor at Munich University. In addition, she worked at the Munich Center for Health Sciences (MC Health), was a lecturer at the Université de Friborg in 2008 , was a visiting scholar at the Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano in 2009 and a visiting professor at the University of Zurich in 2013/2014 . In 2009/2010 she represented a professorship for communication studies at the University of Music, Drama and Media Hanover and in 2013 the professorship for general communication research at the University of Mainz .

In 2014, Rossmann accepted an appointment as professor for communication science with a focus on social communication at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Erfurt . She has been Vice Dean for Research there since 2017 . In autumn 2019 she was confirmed as Vice Dean. In addition to Cornelia Betsch, she is one of the initiators of the master's degree in health communication at the University of Erfurt.

Her research focus is on health communication and media effects.
