Convolvulus simulans is a kind ofplantfrom the genus of the bindweed ( Convolvulus ) from the family of the bindweed family (Convolvulaceae).

Convolvulus simulans is an annual , stiff hairy plant that is indistinctly branched and 10 to 40 cm high. The leaves are entire, shorter than 6 cm and, conversely, lanceolate. The leaf blade gradually tapers to the petiole .

The flowers stand individually on short peduncles , which are strongly nodding on the fruit. The flowers are accompanied by bracts , which are 3 to 7 mm long and linear or narrow, inversely lanceolate in shape and well below the calyx .

The calyx lobes have a length of 3 to 4 mm and are elongated and inverted ovoid. The bell-shaped, pink or bluish colored crown reaches a length of 0.6 cm; the corolla lobes are about half as long as the corolla tube and more or less upright.

The fruits are about 7 mm long.

Occurrence and locations

The species is endemic to California and Lower California . It grows on moist clay soil and serpentine rocks at altitudes between 30 and 700 m.
