Copley Fielding
Copley Anthony Vandyke Fielding (born November 22, 1787 in Sowerby , West Yorkshire , † March 3, 1855 in Worthing , Sussex ) was an English painter and draftsman.
Life
Fielding, son of the portrait painter Nathan Theodore Fielding (around 1775-1818), distinguished himself particularly in watercolor painting and was for a long time the main exponent of this art, as he was the president of the for 24 years from 1831 until his death Society of Painters in Water Colors .
Incredibly productive, even if not free from manners, he did an excellent job in landscapes and seascapes. He died March 3, 1855 in Brighton.
The painter and draftsman Theodore Henry Fielding (1781-1851) was his brother.
One of his students was the painter and watercolorist William Callow .
