Cora-Jeanette Hermenau

Cora-Jeanette Hermenau (born March 1, 1957 in Hanover ) is a German political officer . From May 2005 to February 2013, she was State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Finance and is currently Head of Department (regional councilor) for the Hanover region , and since April 2018 also first regional councilor.

Life and work

Hermenau studied law in Augsburg and Münster and passed both state law exams. After completing her legal traineeship, she joined the Lower Saxony tax administration in 1988, initially working as a department manager for enforcement tasks and later as a department manager for legal remedies in tax matters at the Hanover-North tax office. From 1991 to 1999 she worked as a personnel officer at the regional tax office in Hanover. In 1999 she moved to the Lower Saxony Ministry of Finance as head of department, where she was responsible for personnel and organizational matters, among other things, and took over the management of Department 3 (tax and personnel department) in 2005/06. Since May 1, 2015, she has been the regional councilor for the Hanover region with the areas of public health, security, IT coordination and EU affairs. Since April 2018 she has also been the first regional councilor and thus general representative of the President of the Hanover region in the administration.
