The Corale Alpina Savonese is an Italian a cappella - Male Choir , which was founded in the fall 1949th Since 1987 it has been led by Eugenio Alipede.

history

The Corale Alpina Savonese was founded in November 1949 by a group of university students who were enthusiastic about mountain singing (Italian- Alpine folk music ). The choir has performed in front of an audience since 1951, initially only locally, later also nationally and internationally.

The choir has participated in numerous singing competitions and has received good placements and assessments. Since 1978 he has organized an important parade of choirs in the “Gabriello Chiabrera” municipal theater in Savona ; famous choirs such as I Crodaioli from Arzignano, led by Bepi de Marzi, author of the song “Signore delle Cime”, which has been translated into many languages, and the choir of the Alpini Brigade Taurinense have performed .

The choir first performed abroad in 1969 in France , in Grenoble and in the castle of Lesdiguières in Vizille . From 1983 he is six times (1983, 1988, 1989, 1993, 1997 and 2002) in Villingen-Schwenningen , the German twin town of Savona, occurred. In 1985 he gave several concerts in Reutlingen . In May 2006 he performed in the Cathedral of Orange (France) at the invitation of the choir La Clè des Chants .

He has also participated in many national and international parades. Most recently he took part in the International Parade “Singing in the Mountains” in 2003 in Wolfsberg in Carinthia , twice at the 8th and 9th “International Choir Festival” in 2005 and 2006 in Pustertal , where choirs from all over the world perform.

The choir has performed on some special occasions: in 1960 in Imperia the concert in honor of Achille Compagnoni , conqueror of K2 , and in 1972 on board the destroyer with rocket launcher "Intrepido" ( Impavido class ) of the Italian Navy in Savona on the occasion of the handover of the flag of war .

repertoire

The repertoire ranges from alpine and mountain chants to the "spirituals", from folk chants to the revisions of famous songs, to some church chants and to known and unknown pieces from the tradition of Ligurian composers.
