Cord Bothe

Cord Bothe (born April 29, 1920 in Hagenburg ; † March 30, 1987 in Stadthagen ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Bothe attended elementary school in Hagenburg and later the secondary school in nearby Wunstorf . He completed his secondary school leaving certificate and began an agricultural apprenticeship with an assistant examination. Between 1940 and 1945 he was in military service as a soldier; his last rank was a lieutenant. Since 1947 he was entrusted with the management of his own farm and in 1955 he passed the examination to become a master of agriculture.

Bothe became deputy chairman of the CDU district association Schaumburg and the Hanover district of the CDU. He was a member of the administrative board of the Kreis- und Stadtsparkasse Stadthagen , the board of the Hanoverian agricultural professional association, the board of the Hanoverian agricultural health insurance, the board of the Hanoverian agricultural old-age fund, the administrative committee of the Lower Saxony animal epidemic fund and the Hanover Chamber of Agriculture .

Bothe was chairman of the Lower Saxony rural people in Schaumburg and chairman of the social policy committee of the Lower Saxony rural people in Hanover. He was a board member of the Meerbach Führse entertainment association and a board member of the Steinhuder Meer-Süd wastewater association.

Bothe has been a councilor since 1952 and became mayor and honorary community director of the community of Hagenburg in 1970. Since 1974 he was councilor and from 1974 to 1976 mayor of the municipality Sachsenhagen . In 1952 he became a member of the district council. Between 1976 and 1981 he was deputy district administrator of the Schaumburg-Lippe district, later the Schaumburg district . Bothe moved as a member of the 8th to 10th electoral term from February 25, 1976 to June 20, 1986 in the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Honors

Cord Bothe has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon . Cord-Bothe-Platz in Hagenburg is named after him.
