Cordula Schubert 1990.

Cordula Schubert (born May 21, 1959 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a former German politician ( CDU ) and ministerial official. In 1990 she was Minister for Youth and Sport of the GDR for 199 days until reunification .

From 1975 to 1978 Schubert was trained as a nurse and then worked in various hospitals. In her second education, she passed the Abitur and studied medical education at the Humboldt University in Berlin from 1983 to 1987 . After completing her diploma , she began to teach anatomy , physiology and reaction theory at the "Walter Krämer" medical school in Karl-Marx-Stadt .

In 1982 she joined the Eastern CDU and in November 1989 the Christian Youth Organization (CDJ) . In 1990 she was elected to the People's Chamber for the party and shortly afterwards Minister for Youth and Sport in the de Maizière government . at the age of 30 or 31, she was the youngest minister.

Their main task was the handling of the DTSB with 9200 employees; its functionaries unsuccessfully demanded Schubert's removal.

After German reunification , Schubert became a research assistant at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung , and since 1993 she has been the head of department at the Saxon Ministry of Social Affairs.
