Kożuchowski Młyn ( German Wassermühle Kosuchen , also: Mühle Kosuchen , 1938 to 1945 Mühle Kölmerfelde ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the Gmina Biała Piska ( town and country municipality Bialla , 1938 to 1945 Gehlenburg ) in the powiat Piski (District of Johannisburg ) belongs.

Geographical location

Kożuchowski Młyn is located in the south-east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, 21 kilometers east of the district town of Pisz ( German Johannisburg ).

history

There are hardly any documents about the history of the hamlet ( Osada in Polish ) - apart from the information that in 1905 it belonged to the rural community of Kosuchen ( Kożuchy in Polish ) with its one house and four inhabitants . It seems certain that the place was called Wassermühle Kosuchen or Mühle Kosuchen until 1938 and then Mühle Kölmerfelde until 1945 - based on the neighboring town of Kożuchy , to which it was related. Until 1945 the small town was thus the circle Johannesburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen (1905: Administrative district Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia belong.

As a result of the war, the village came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and received the Polish form of the name "Kożuchowski Młyn". Today it belongs to the urban and rural community Biała Piska (Bialla , 1938 to 1945 Gehlenburg) in the powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ), until 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then assigned to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Religions

Until 1945 watermill Kosuchen resp. Mühle Kölmerfelde belonged to the Evangelical Church of Bialla in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and to the Roman Catholic Church of Johannisburg in the Diocese of Ermland .

Today the place is in the ecclesiastical catchment area of the Catholic parish Biała Piska in the diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland and the Protestant parish in Biała Piska, a branch of the parish Pisz in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .

Kożuchowski Młyn is a little off the beaten track and can only be reached by land from Kożuchy Małe or Konopki (Konopken , 1938 to 1945 Erztal) . There is no train connection.
